Field Service Technician Tina Clairmont paid forward $500 to Animal Allies, a low-cost spay and neuter clinic serving Upstate, South Carolina and surrounding areas.
According to animalalliesclinic.org, Animal Allies’ mission is to reduce the number of unwanted, unclaimed and stray dogs and cats in our community and surrounding area, by providing a low-cost, high quality spay and neuter program. The clinic also offers vaccinations and other services at the time of surgery, as well as minor services through its vaccine clinic for already altered animals.
Animal Allies performed 22,814 surgeries in 2025 and has set a goal of 23,000 surgeries for 2026. The clinic is also a partner of No Kill South Carolina and accepts feral cats on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to help control the community cat population.
Tina said, “I especially love their work with community and feral cats through the trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. This service provides a compassionate and effective solution to overpopulation while keeping outdoor cats healthy. They are a true lifeline for the animals that are so often overlooked. The Pay It Forward program began in 2015. Every Laurens Electric Cooperative employee is entered into a random drawing to receive $500 to pay forward in any way they choose. Each month a new name is drawn, and the employee then has one month to apply the funds toward their own act of kindness.
This initiative is budget-neutral; the funds come from Laurens Electric’s charity events, which employee volunteers make possible.
