Co-op awards grant to The Chapman Foundation

Laurens Electric awarded a Community Impact Initiative grant to The Chapman Foundation at the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet in April.

The Chapman Foundation’s Summer Camp is a free two-week summer camp program designed to provide children in our community with a blend of fun and educational experiences.

Throughout the month of July, they gather with community partners to offer a diverse range of activities, including gardening, art, robotics, health education, and much more. The goal is to create an enriching environment where children can learn, explore, and have a great time during their summer break. From hands-on learning to exciting adventures, the camp aims to provide both entertainment and valuable educational opportunities for all participants.

“We wanted these funds to go to an organization that would be able to stretch those dollars as far as they could go for the benefit of our local community,” says Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce President Marnie Schwartz-Hanley, who presented the award.

The Chapman Foundation’s Program Director Juan Diaz says the funds will be used to provide food and activities for the children. “With your support, we will be able to offer nutritious meals and snacks throughout the camp duration, ensuring that all participants are well-fed and energized for the day’s activities.”

He adds, “I am thrilled about the opportunities these funds will create for our community’s youth. Through the Summer Camp, we will not only provide a safe and enriching environment for children but also instill valuable life skills and foster personal growth that will benefit them for years to come.

Thank you once again for your belief in our mission and your commitment to empowering the next generation. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the lives of our community’s youth.”

Laurens Electric is proud to sponsor and partner with the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce to support the experience of these young people.
