Kendall Samero of Taylors came just 14feet from winning $1 million in Saturday’s finals of Laurens Electric Cooperative’s Million Dollar Hole-in-One Shootout at Eagle Zone golf center on Pelham Road in Greenville.
Samero won $1,000 for the closest-to-the-$1 million-hole shot. Aaron Thomas placed 2nd and won $500, followed by Jamin Drake, who took home $250.
Sponsored by Laurens Electric Cooperative, the Shootout included two qualifying days during which golfers could earn entry into the Saturday finals, where a hole in one would have been worth $1 million!
Laurens Electric is dedicated to improving the quality of life of the citizens in the upstate and in the communities the cooperative serves. All proceeds from the Hole In One Shootout will benefit The Project Hope Foundation in providing a lifespan of services for the autism community.
The Project Hope Foundation serves individuals of all ages across the autism spectrum. They provide a wide range of services – family support, Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, education, training, social groups, and adult programs – and a broad array of workshops and trainings to families, educators, childcare providers, medical professionals, and community groups. No other South Carolina organization offers this range of services and support for the autism community.
Last year’s Million Dollar Hole In One Shootout earned $12,000 for charity. Every dollar spent at the hole-in-one event is a dollar that will go to The Project Hope Foundation; it’s a fantastic way to support the community through an outstanding agency and have a great time in the process.
